Happy 2012!

We hope you had a wonderful new year's eve and are enjoying the first few days of this very mild January we are having.  We would just like to thank you all for your support over the past year - we couldn't have made it without you!  Betty finally is in print, and if you haven't got your Winter issue yet, you can get it here.  We have lots of plans for 2012, and are setting to work on the new issue of Betty as soon as we put down the selection box.
A new year always seems like a good opportunity to set yourself new challenges and goals, people always seem to discourage making resolutions, however we think as long as you don't make too many it can be a good way to work towards new things.  What are you setting yourself to do this year?  To give you a bit of inspiration we asked a few of the contributors who work on Betty what they were hoping to achieve in 2012, and here is what they said:

Ellie Smith
Contributing Photographer

See more live music, visit my lovely friend in New York, be healthier, go to Morocco, drink less Diet Coke, make the most of London, see more of my family and friends.

Kerry Law
Contributing Writer

Less procrastination, more getting on with it - mainly to finish renovating my flat.  I'd also quite like to teach myself how to make clothes as I've a sewing machine gathering dust...

Jan Smith
Food Editor

Sort out huge collection of old photograhs and put into albums, as well as trying to do  painting or life drawing classes.  Also practice living for the moment....

Alex Green
Graphic Designer

Find my inner rhythm, learn to drum. (I have no rhythm), earn some actual money, move into a nicer house, start to learn German, fix my bike, use my bike, use my diary more, stay organised.

Kelly Jameson
Contributing Photographer

Visit L.A, take more photos, travel more and buy a new car.

Charlotte Jacklin
Editor

Cook more, spend less, pass my driving test and start learning to play the piano.

We would love to hear your goals for the new year, what is on your list?

  1. As I forgot to send my contribution in, mine are:

Continue to view the world through rose-tinted glasses, be kinder to my body (more sleep, actually do some exercise), journey to at least two new places I'm yet to explore, buy less but buy beautifully (only buying those things which make me feel like I'm going to a party the moment I slip them on), send more hand-written letters, actually ebay the giant pile of clothes I don't wear, more live theatre.

That is QUITE a long list! But I'm nothing if not ambitious ;)
